In the third-place race, Marguč defeated Aaron March of Italy by 0.59 seconds to earn his fourth medal at world snowboarding championships.

This is the second bronze at world championships for the 28-year-old, the first coming at Spain's La Molina in 2011.

Marguč also won silver in the parallel giant slalom at La Molina, while his biggest success so far is the gold medal at the previous World Championships in Canada's Stoneham in 2013.

Slovenia already got a medal in Kreischberg last Saturday as Tim-Kevin Ravnjak grabbed bronze in the men's snowboard halfpipe.
