While all relevant services have been notified about the event, Klinec argued that nothing serious had occurred, although the whole affair looked a bit awkward because of the size of the ship as well as the proximity of the shore.

National broadcaster RTV Slovenije reported that the ship, which would have had to announce such a manoeuvre and follow prescribed proceedings, had gone as far as two nautical miles off the Debeli Rtič cape.

Klinec said the Maritime Administration is in contact with the Italian coastal guard as well as the Slovenian army and is monitoring the situation.
