"This does not mean the government is now willing to discuss political and other measures that would give Greeks more leeway in structural reforms and fiscal consolidation, but they have to carry out the principal tasks that they have committed to performing," he said.

Turning to Slovenia, Cerar said if would be easier for him as prime minister if European rules were looser, but he sees the strictness as "a beneficial incentive for Slovenians to learn to live as good managers, within our means, and in a sustainable manner."
