Topping the agenda is cooperation between the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Roma Union and the Council's policy on the Roma.

"The CoE is looking for organisations to represent the interests of the Roma in Europe" and the European Roma Union is a serious candidate for the job, Jožek Horvat Muc, the head of the European and Slovenian Roma unions, has told the STA ahead of the event.

Horvat Muc expects that the European Roma Union will receive soon an invitation from the CoE to present its strategy. He added that the union does not want to dictate the CoE on Roma policy but it would like to help improve the lives of the Roma in Europe.

Organisers expect at the conference Roma community representatives from Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia.
