Chamber of Commerce Decides Against Signing Social Pact
Although the government later gave up the taxes, the GZS did not rejoin the negotiations and waited until the document was signed before deciding whether to get on board.
GZS executive director Tatjana Čerin said that after today's session of the GZS's management board that the pact included too few opportunities for the economy. Moreover, the agreement is too general and the array of topics covered too broad.
The GZS also believes the pact should include reforms of the public sector, pension and health insurance and labour market.
The pact moreover does not plan to lower the tax burden for the businesses; on contrary it even hides traps that could lead to higher taxes, said Čerin.
