Košir, who is a double Olympic medallist and took silver at the recent World Championships, is also commanding a comfortable lead in the overall World Cup standings ahead of double Olympic champion Vic Wild of Russia.

There are three parallel slalom races to go in this season and Košir could already clinch the overall title as the first Slovenian to do so in Japan on Sunday.
