PM Backs Justice Minister in Graft Report Controversy

Based on exhaustive explanations over accusations against the minister in connection to the report from the time he headed the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, Klemenčič enjoys Cerar's support, the prime minister's office said on Monday.
Klemenčič had already announced on Saturday he did not plan to heed the call by Janša's Democratic Party (SDS) to step down, since he acted in good faith in authoring the controversial report, which singled out Janša and Mayor of Ljubljana and the then leader of Positive Slovenia Zoran Janković as being unable to account for their assets.
The Supreme Court last week repealed the report in the part pertaining to Janša on procedural grounds. The court did not rule on the substance, which is however the subject of a criminal investigation.
