Hidria to Supply Key Parts for BMW, Ducati Bikes
The components will be built by Hidria Mototec, a Koper-based subsidiary. The Ducati and BMW deals will double the company's turnover to EUR 10m annually and create new jobs, Andrej Velec, the general manager of Mototec, told the press on Thursday.
The components, which have been developed at Hidria's high-tech development centre, will be used in bikes that will go on sale in 2016.
The deals make Hidria "one of the key players in this field in Europe," according to Hidria management board member Iztok Seljak.
The conglomerate signed in the past two months deals worth over EUR 200m for the supply of automotive parts between 2016 and 2020, Hidria officials also said, adding that details cannot yet be revealed.
Hidria is meanwhile undergoing financial restructuring aiming to boost its turnover from EUR 250m to EUR 350m by 2018.
