Women's Skiing: Maze Third, Štuhec Fifth in Downhill
Liechtenstein's Tina Weirather claimed victory, followed by Austria's Anna Fenninger (+0.51) and Maze (+0.91), who are in a tight battle for the overall women's title.
With a total of 1,205 points, Maze now has only a 24-point lead over Fenninger in the overall World Cup standings.
Štuhec meanwhile trailed only 1.06 seconds behind today's winner in what is one of the best results of her career.
Her best World Cup result to date is the fourth place in super G in Beever Creek in 2013.
The 24-year old Štuhec, who entered the Alpine skiing World Cup arena eight years ago, finished 20th in downhill at the recent World Championships in the US.
On Sunday, Garmisch will host a super G race.
