The group's operating profit was up 18% to EUR 3.7m, according to unaudited data published on Thursday on the website of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.

Bojc said in the press release that Žito reached the results by "focusing on its basic operations, increasing exports and focusing on the buyer".

The core company generated EUR 106.4m in net revenue, a 3% increase over 2013. Operating profit was however down by 8% to EUR 2.6m year-on-year, while net profit dropped 6% to EUR 2.3m.

Žito group generated 81% of its revenue in Slovenia, while the share of its exports increased by 18.6%.
