Prevc set the new record of the renovated Planica flying hill at 248.5 metres in the first round, taking a huge lead that he managed to keep in the second round with a 233-metre effort.

Powered by the massive home crowd, Prevc was on another level at Planica today, recording the third-longest ski jump of all time. He also owns the second-longest jump of 250 metres.

It was a double win for Slovenia today, as Jurij Tepeš finished second with jumps of 223 and 233 metres to earn 0.1 points more than the third-placed Stefan Kraft of Austria (240 and 238.5 m).

Germany's Freund finished fourth (233 and 230.5 m) to keep his overall lead in the World Cup, but Prevc is breathing down his neck one event to go, trailing the German by 44 points.

The ski-jumping festivities at the legendary Slovenian ski flying venue will continue on Saturday with a team event, with the ultimate individual event of the season is scheduled for Sunday.
