The Slovenian pavilion, an extravagant monumental structure made of natural materials, mostly wood and glass, is located at the crossroads of the two major streets at the exhibition site.

According to the commissioner-general for the Slovenia Expo Milan 2015 section Jerneja Lampret, it is a great achievement for Slovenia to get such a prime location at the fairgrounds in Milan.

The construction of the EUR 1.8m building that is meant to resemble Slovenia's geographical diversity and its commitment to environmental protection is in the finishing stages.

The government has earmarked EUR 5m for Slovenia's presentation at Expo 2015, which is much less than other comparable countries have invested, Lampret said.

Nevertheless, Slovenia will be well represented between 1 May and 31 October in Milan, according to her. It is a good opportunity for Slovenia that the exhibition will be held in the economic and financial capital of one of the most important Slovenian trade partners.

Besides presenting Slovenia as a green destination to the visitors, the pavilion will also serve as a venue for business meetings, which the Spirit agency believes will have positive effects on the Slovenian economy.
