Minister Says Slovenia Will Be Ready for Milan Expo

Four of the five million euros earmarked for the project were spent last year, showed a report on the preparations for the six-month show discussed by the government.

The minster, who said Slovenia would not be among those whose pavilion will not be ready by 1 May, spoke of a "tremendous opportunity for Slovenia".

He noted that the last time the expo was held this close to Slovenia was 1873 in Vienna.

"I'm confident we will make good use of this opportunity," Počivalšek said.

He explained the main focus would be on strengthening the "I Feel Slovenia" brand, attracting foreign direct investment and tourists and forging ties between Slovenian and foreign entrepreneurs.
