Central Bank to Issue Spring Economic Forecast

Nekategorizirano

In its most recent forecast, Banka Slovenije predicted that the Slovenian economy would expand by 1.3% this year and 1.8% next year.

Those figure, especially for this year, are likely to be upgraded on Wednesday as favourable economic trends continue to prevail.

The Banka Slovenije outlook will come hot on the heels of the spring forecast from the government macroeconomic think tank IMAD projecting 2.4% growth for this year and 2% growth for next year.

Domestic and international institutions have in recent months bumped up their outlooks for the Slovenian economy due mostly to strong export performance but also because of persistent if gradual recovery in domestic consumption.

However, many of the institutions have warned that the upgraded projections still carry significant risk and that Slovenia must push ahead with structural reforms to secure sustainable economic growth.
