Zmago Skobir, the chief executive of airport operator Aerodrom Ljubljana, said Aerodrom and the second shareholder, the state-owned PDP restructuring company, would examine the bids this week.

"We will open the bids, evaluate them and decide how to proceed. If we are happy with any offers, we will make a shortlist and start negotiations. The procedures should be wrapped up by the end of June if an offer is satisfactory," he said.

The call for bids for a 100% stake in Adria Tehnika, one of the companies in the government's 15-strong privatisation package, was published in January 2014. The deadline for bids expired in March.

It has not been revealed how many offers were received. A few months ago unofficial reports suggested Express Airways and Avia Solutions were among the bidders, but additional firms are said to have come forward thereafter.

PDP owns 52.3% of voting stock in Adria Tehnika and Aerodrom Ljubljana, which is wholly owned by German airport operator Fraport, 46.7%.

Adria Tehnika is yet to release results for 2014. In 2013 it posted sales of EUR 20.8m and a net profit of EUR 0.9m.
