The money will go for the much-needed overhaul of Slovenia's main military training facility. US officials met representatives of business which are bidding to participate in the refurbishment on Tuesday.

The US army regularly participates in military exercises at Poček.

Public broadcaster RTV Slovenija has reported that the overhaul will be carried out in the summer, ahead of the Immediate Response 2015 exercise featuring NATO members which is scheduled to be held in September.
