Some 60 Slovenians in Nepal, Two Not Located Yet

The Slovenian Embassy in New Delhi is trying to reach them, the ministry said and added that the rest of the Slovenian trekkers were not injured and were relatively safe.

The ministry advises all Slovenian nationals to leave Nepal as soon as possible. "The situation is rather unpredictable and the country will not be suitable for tourist trips for a while."

Yesterday Nepal was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake which has left around 2,500 dead in Nepal and neighbouring countries India, China's Tibet and Bangladesh. Thousands are injured.

Slovenian charities Red Cross Slovenia and UNICEF Slovenia are joining global efforts to raise money for the affected region.
