Moreover, the Commission issued a reasoned opinion to Slovenia for failing to enact a single work and residence permit for migrant workers.

The Commission referred Slovenia and Poland to the EU Court of Justice in what is the third court referral made against Slovenia so far this year.

The Commission moreover demands a EUR 8,408 daily fine until the relevant legislation is transposed. The figure seems rather low compared to the EUR 71,610 daily fine required for Poland.

The member states were required to enact the e-waste legislation by 14 February 2014 in order to prevent or reduce the negative effects on the environment.

The Commission moreover issued a second warning to Slovenia for failing to introduce a single work and residence permit for migrant workers. A reasoned opinion was also issued to Belgium and Spain.

The Slovenian Labour Ministry meanwhile said that the relevant bill had been drafted and was already in parliamentary procedure.
