Although the mayoral candidates were required to report their campaign funding to the Court of Audit and the National Assembly in the past, the reports were not published by a single medium and were often hard to access despite being deemed as public.

The Public Administration Ministry said in a press release that AJPES made a great step toward transparency of election campaigns and the funding of political parties by setting up the application.

The AJPES portal also features annual reports of political parties for last year, the ministry also said in the press release.
