Slovenian Minority Has Its Day at Milan Expo
The pavilion was visited on the occasion by Minister for Slovenians Abroad Gorazd Žmavc.
The minister said he was happy that the Slovenian minority in Italy had a chance to showcase itself at the world exhibition.
One of the ways to connect Slovenia and its diaspora is also this presentation of the life across the border through the project "Taste of Kras", Žmavc added.
The project speaks about the importance of characteristic products and cuisine of the region for the nurturing of tradition and strengthening of the image of the Italian part of Kras, according to the minister.
Cooperation between business in the border area, including wine and food producers, is one of the key activities connecting the economies of Slovenia and Italy, the Office for Slovenians Abroad cited Žmavc in a press release.
The presentation of wines and culinary delights from the Kras plateau was organised by the Slovenian Regional Economic Union (SDGZ) from Trieste and the SPIRIT tourism and investment promotion agency.
