Participants from six countries brought their shakers to mix their creations and wow the audience in an open-air setting.

The organisers decided to take advantage of the sunny weather forecast, so the bartenders will mix their cocktails in open air, where plenty of room will be available for visitors to sit back and enjoy the show.

A total of 25 competitors from Slovenia, Austria, Luxembourg, Hungary, Estonia and Switzerland will present their after-dinner creations and long drinks, head of the Slovenian Bartender Association Aleš Ogrin told the STA.

The contest will also feature students from five Slovenian secondary schools for tourism and catering, which will mix their drinks to win the secondary school national title. The competition will close on Thursday with the professionals.

Otherwise, cocktail mixing keeps a long tradition in Slovenia. The bartender association was first established in 1967 and has since seen its members win many international acknowledgements, including two world champion titles in 2000 and 2010.
