Glažar has been a member of the Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica for almost 50 years.

Her "extremely devoted and creative work" contributed not only to the artistic development of the theatre house but also helped raise it to a professional level, the jury said.

She has played over 130 theatre roles while also performing in films and television dramas and series.

"She impresses the audience over and over again with her acting maturity and youthful enthusiasm, and leads them into genuine and persuasive confrontations with figures of various genres and aesthetics," the jury said.

Glažar will receive the award at a ceremony in Nova Gorica on Friday, when the winners of the awards for individual acting achievements will also be revealed.

The Slovenian theatre houses from Nova Gorica, Koper and Italy's Trieste have been giving out the awards since 2011 to promote the idea of a common theatre space in Slovenia and Italy.
