The new stamp, created by design company Villa Creativa, depicts a person jumping for joy and a map of the world with lines connecting different places.

Paulo Magalhães, who started the Postcrossing project in 2005 commented: "It's a real honor for us that the Postcrossing community has been deemed of such a high distinction by Slovenian Post. I'm very pleased to see this stamp come to live - especially since Slovenia is one of my favorite countries!"

Also Darko Lončarič, from Pošta Slovenije's philatelic department said: "By issuing a special stamp, Pošta Slovenije expresses its support for the project and wishes all users many more enjoyable moments as they continue to exchange postcards."

On May 29th at 4:30pm, the Postcrossing community will be celebrating the launch of the Postcrossing stamp at the Maribor main Post Office. Postcrossers and enthusiasts of traditional mail are invited to come along and have their stamps affixed to a postcard or cancelled with a first day cancellation mark.

The Postcrossing stamp will be available on all Slovenian Post Offices from May 29th onwards.
