Lights Festival to Blur the Line between Reality and Illusion

Nekategorizirano

Until 26 June, Slovenian and foreign authors will be presented through art works that will create a world of illusions using light effects.

The projects will play with the borderline between the visible and invisible, reality and fiction, all within this year's theme of the festival "In the Dark".

The main venue of the festival, Galerija Vžigalica, will attract visitors with project "Ring Ging Bling", a creation by several artists and art collectives building on the effects of complementary colours to create an illusion of movement in static objects.

The projects "Constellation" by Canadian artist Robyn Moody and "One Size for All" by Adrijan Praznik will also be on display.

Moody will also present his light and sound installation "Wave Interference" at the near-by Kiževniša church, while Mina Fina will set up her "Shady Garden" at the church garden.

During the festival, the Trg Francoske revolucije square will be lit up by installations by Matej Stupica, Neža Jurman and Marko Kovačič.

"Light Paintings" by art collective OCUBO based in Portugal will meanwhile be projected on the Ljubljana City Museum building.

Light trails will lead from Galerija Vžigalica to studio tipoRenesansa, where Marko Drpić will present his "Experience of a Transition".

The Lighting Guerrilla program is a part of the EU-funded international project Spectrum 14/15.
