The negotiations are in the final phase and certain documents are being finalised. The decision will first be adopted by the SSH management and subsequently by the supervisory board, he said.

The statement came in response to the question whether the government will have the final say in its capacity as the sole shareholder of the SSH.

The Social Democrats (SD) in particular have been demanding the government have the final say.

"The government should decide, it has the right in its capacity as [sole SSH] shareholder...The decision should be taken by the people, not some funds," SD president Dejan Židan told a party function today.

The Pensioners' Party (DeSUS), on the other hand, wants the SSH to do its job, while the senior coalition partner, the Modern Centre Party (SMC), has not made its position known.

The sovereign holding is in talks with Cinven, a UK buyout fund, which recently reportedly raised its offer to EUR 130 per share as the sole remaining bidder.
