Slovenian Wins Bronze at European Rowing Champs
This was the second time in his career the Izola native broke the 7-minute mark, having first achieved that in the preliminary round of the competition.
"I was aiming for victory. My coach and I knew we have to aim for gold if I was to win a medal," the 28-year-old said. "I am happy with the medal, it bodes well for the future."
Hrvat's next goal is to secure a place at the Rio Olympics next year. He plans to find a partner to compete in the double sculls.
The bronze is the first medal from a major competition for Hrvat. His previous best was 8th place at the European Championships in 2013.
