The talks were "very open and constructive", Žmavc told the STA, expressing the belief that Slovenia and Austria will find systemic solutions to all the outstanding issues.

The pair broached the issues concerning the Slovenian minority schools and media outlets, with the Austrian minister expressing readiness for solutions to be found.

Žmavc also said Ostermayer would pay a visit to Ljubljana in September.

"We are building a dialogue that will be held on a regular basis and this is the right path for our relations," the Slovenian minister said.

The purpose of today's talks was to strengthen the neighbourly relations and reaffirm the economic, cultural, political and other ties between Slovenia and Austria and the areas inhabited by the Slovenian minority, the Ministry for Slovenians Abroad said ahead of the meeting.
