While the road was first closed between Senožeče and the intersection Nanos in both directions, it has already reopened for traffic in the direction towards Koper.

Vehicles are however piling up causing congestion in the direction towards Ljubljana, so transport has been redirected to a regional road.

The police said nobody was hurt in the accident.

Anita Leskovec of Koper police told the STA that the bus driver had pulled over on the emergency lane so that all the passengers could immediately leave it.

Heavy traffic is however reported on several roads and border crossings, as many opted to make a trip to the coast on a sunny weekend.
