The seventh edition of the festival will see theme days this year, featuring puppet arts, circus, ballet, contemporary urban music and Day of Music.

The festival's open air events will be held throughout every day at the Congress square until 21 June. Many acclaimed artists, including Vlatko Stefanovski, are expected to perform on the stage.

Meanwhile, Slovenian summer festival Imago Sloveniae also got underway, announcing 35 concerts of different styles and genres around the country. The festival managers say almost 300 musicians from 14 countries are expected to perform at the events.

Some of the highlights of the Imago Sloveniae include Austrian Trio Van Beethoven, Italian Trio di Parma and the quartet V4. Chamber choirs from Great Britain, France and Spain will also give concerts at the festival.

The Imago Sloveniae will close in the end of August with the three day Night in Old Town Ljubljana event, which will feature an international symposium on music and ecology.
