Consumer Confidence Keeps Growing

The index mostly improved because of the upbeat expectations of consumers about saving prospects (up 8 points) and the economic situation in Slovenia (up 4 points), the report also states.

In addition, the index measuring expectations regarding the unemployment level in the next 12 months was also up by eight percentage points.

On the other hand, the consumer confidence regarding the financial situation in households dropped by two percentage points compared to the month before.

The consumer confidence index at the annual level increased by 15 percentage points on an annual level. Optimistic expectations about unemployment rate over the next year most contributed to this increase (up 21 points).

Consumers were also more optimistic about possibilities to make savings over the next 12 months (up by 16 points), the economic situation in Slovenia (up 14 points) and the financial situation in their household (up 10 points).
