The body will expectedly be launched around 1 August, the Economic Development and Technology Ministry has said.

The agency will employ people who are currently still working in the tourism department of the SPIRIT agency for promotion of investment, entrepreneurship and tourism tourism department. The ministry did not reveal how many people would work at the new agency.

The move retracts a 2012 decision to establish SPIRIT by merging the Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI), the Slovenian Tourism Board (STO) and the Technology Agency (TIA).
