The organisers, the Slovenia in the World expatriate association, said that the opening ceremony will include the awarding of honorary membership and a lifetime achievement award to painter and scenographer Tone Oblak, who lives in Argentina.

Slovenian school children from Argentina, associated in the "RAST 44" group, will stage a performance, and the event will also feature a historical presentation and an exhibition of photographs by Marjan Kocmur.

The gathering will conclude with a round table debate dubbed "We Had to Leave Slovenia", featuring presentations of experiences of people fleeing the country at the end of WWII, according to the association.
