Ljubljana Castle to Stage Summer Big Screen Viewings

The screenings will start each evening at 9:30 PM and the Kinodvor theatre will serve as back-up venue in case of bad weather.

Movie lovers will be able to enjoy a number of the most celebrated films of the past year, including the winners of the festivals in Cannes, Berlin in Venice, Oscar-nominated films, the best-visited Kinodvor films and films that did well at last-year's Ljubljana Film Festival (LIFFe).

The programme also includes a few excellent documentaries and films particularly well-suited for open-air viewing, such as "Interstellar" and "Mad Max: Fury Road".

The festival will also feature three advance premieres: "Far from Men" by David Oelhoffen this Friday, "45 Years" by Andrew Haigh on 15 July and the Amy Winehouse documentary "Amy" by Asif Kapadia on the closing evening.

The Film Under the Stars festival, a joint project of the Kinodvor cinema and Ljubljana Castle, was launched in 2004 as a part of the Ljubljana Festival.
