Even though Slovenia is a small country, it provides access to internal EU markets, where the country generates a majority of its international trade, GZS head Samo Hribar Milič said pointing to Slovenia's attributes.

According to Economy Ministry State Secretary Aleš Cantarutti, China is one of Slovenia's key business partners in Asia, but there are still many opportunities to reinforce trading and investments.

Cantarutti sees most opportunities for cooperation in telecommunications, environmental technologies, food processing industry, tourism as well as wood processing industry.

Chen Jianmin of the Hebei Industry Association, which covers the province of over 73 million, also sees many opportunities to expand cooperation and pointed to successful investments in Slovenia and China as examples of good practice.

The Chinese delegation saw presentations of several Slovenian businesses at the conference, while the event concluded with business networking between representatives of Slovenian and Chinese companies.
