The funds will be divided among up to 1,000 students, Kopač Mrak said and added that the call for application also aimed at promoting vocational education, as it was intended for secondary school students.

Among other, students training for professions in information science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry and catering can apply for the scholarship, the minister said.

The scholarships will be granted on a first come, first served basis, head of the scholarships fund Franc Pristovšek said. The fund will be accepting applications between 24 August and 30 October.
