Securing their best results this season, Blaža Klemenčič took bronze and Tanja Žakelj finished fourth in the cross country event in Chies d'Alpago.

Gold went to Swiss Jolanda Neff.

For Klemenčič, this is the second European Championships medal in a row, after securing silver in 2014.

Her best Olympic result was however the 21st place at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Žakelj was meanwhile the European champion in 2013 and 2014, while tenth place at the 2012 London Olympics is her best result and Slovenia's best Olympic result.
