Debevec Takes Silver at European Shooting Championships

The best Slovenian shooter of all times scored 597 points, falling only two points behind the winner Valerian Sauveplane of France. Austrian Stefan Raser finished third.

Debevec's success was complemented by his colleagues Roman Markoja and Damjan Kandare, who ranked fifth and eighth, respectively.

The European Shooting Championships kicked off last Tuesday, welcoming more than 1,000 shooters from 46 countries. A total of 43 Slovenian athletes are attending.

One of the highlights so far was a new world record set by Russian Sergey Kamenskiy in the 50 metre rifle prone event, where he scored 633 points.

The championships will come to an end on Friday.
