Named after the old boathouse that used stand in its place by the Tivoli pond, the Čolnarna Tivoli cafe has been redesigned to the theme of its old predecessor.

The interior is mostly wood, the walls adorned by old picture postcards of Ljubljana. The counter is designed as a big boat, with a 100-year-old boat frame hanging from the ceiling, the cafe's head Miha Kolarič has told the STA.

Kolarič also promised a programme of events catering for children and adults such as clown and magicians' acts, film screenings, concerts and even dancing.

They would also like to set up a skating rink on the pond in winter, Kolarič said, adding that the establishment would be family-friendly with access allowed to dogs.
