Some 35 participants, aged between 28 and 38, will discuss topical issues during three days of debates and workshops dedicated to innovative entrepreneurial environment, environmentally-friendly development, and security internet security.

The three topics will be permeated with a debate on partnerships and visions, which will also be in the focus of the BSF. "Partnerships, which give birth to visions, cannot exist without trust," Young BSF programme director Simona Leskovar has told the STA.

Participants come from a wide array of fields, among them will be diplomats, entrepreneurs, NGO members, academics, and civil society activists.

The organisers, a dedicated team at the Slovenian Foreign Ministry, want to give the young an opportunity to be heard.

"The young have visions and ideas and we need to lend them an ear because they know how to think outside the box," according to Leskovar.

The participants come from Afghanistan, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Columbia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Iran, Mexico, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, and the US.

The event will end with a panel debate dubbed "Building the Future", which will also feature Slovenia's former President and long-time diplomat Danilo Türk and human rights activist Tomo Križnar.

The list of panellists also includes Euro-Mediterranean University President Abdelhamid El-Zoheiry, retired Olympic gymnast Miro Cerar, Danica Purg, the president of the IEDC Bled School of Management, and former Interior Minister and the founder of the non-profit European Centre for Dispute Resolution Katarina Kresal.
