Built in 2012, the 236-room Ljubljana hotel will become a part of the Radisson Blu brand and will be renamed Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Ljubljana accordingly, but no other major changes are expected.

Slovenia will therefore become the 79th country in the Carlson Rezidor chain.

Owned by jewellery maker Zlatarna Celje, the four-star hotel offers high-end services to customers.

The hotel's executive director Urša Radanovič said the move would set a new course for the Slovenian hotel business.

"We are happy to be joining a chain with a firm reputation of a hotel services provider. We believe we will attract to Slovenia guests who like to enjoy first-class offering," she said.
