The event will feature high-profile ballet-dancers from some of the most acclaimed European ballet houses, accompanied by the Slovenian National Theatre's (SNG) Symphonic Orchestra.

The big names coming to the city of Maribor for the occasion will be Ukraine-born Denis and Anastasia Matvienko, principals of Russian's Mariinski Ballet.

Principal dancers of the Stuttgart Ballet, Maria Eichwald and Alexander Zaitsev as well Maria Yakovleva and Denys Cherevychko from the Vienna Ballet Opera are also expected.

Ballet-aficionados will also have the chance to see principal of the New York City Ballet Ana Sophia Scheller and the Ukraine-born dancer Nikolai Gorodisky from Argentina.

Besides, the show, which will be organised by the SNG and Bogov's Ballet Academy, will feature Tetiana Svetlichna, Catarina de Meneses and Yuya Omaki from the Maribor ensemble.

Bogov, who was born in in the Russian city of Omsk in 1975, joined Maribor's ballet ensemble in 1994 and become its soloist in 1996.

In 2007 he won one of the most prestigious Slovenian awards for artists, the Prešeren Fund Prize, for his roles over the past two years.

A Slovenian citizen since 1998, Bogov is a principal and first soloist of the city's dancing company, who however often workes with other Slovenian and foreign ballet companies.

Although trained in classic ballet, he often performs in contemporary dance choreographies.

During the years 1995 and 2004 he was awarded for his brilliant technique, overall artist's impression and best duet on several international ballet competitions.

Among his latest ballet creations is Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, in which he played the title role, and the role of Don Jose in Rodion Shchedrin's Carmen, both choreographed by Valentina Turcu.

He was also outstanding as Colin in the comic ballet The Wayward Daughter as well as in the role of the seducer Vicomte de Valmont in the neo-baroque ballet Dangerous Liaisons and in the role of Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake.
