Every visitor is bound to find something for themselves, as the festival offers "traditional cakes from Istria, healthy diet sweets, Slovenian cakes as well as foreign ones", project manager Jana Otočan of the Koper Tourist Board has told the press.

The festival will also feature cook, wine and art workshops, events for children, fund-raisers and sports events.

Today's events, unfolding in the city centre, will end with a concert by popular singer from the Slovenian coast, Tulio Furlanič, in Tito Square.

The festival will wrap up on Sunday with best "sweet stuff", including best cake and most original cake, being awarded.
