Van Rompuy will receive the honour next Wednesday in Ljubljana, Pahor's office said in a press release Thursday.

Pahor and the van Rompuy will also lecture about the future of the EU at the Ljubljana University as part of the visit.

Van Rompuy, who handed over to Donald Tusk on 1 December 2014, has visited Slovenia six times already. Pahor hosted him as prime minister four times.
