The Government Secretariat-General in Ljubljana will host a round table debate on Tuesday on enhancing cooperation between Slovenian and Yaroslavl companies to be followed by networking.

On Wednesday the Russian delegation will visit the western Primorsko region and make stops at port operator Luka Koper and industrial conglomerate Kolektor in Idrija.

The business executives will visit one of the leading global ultralight air planes Pipistrel on Thursday and attend a business forum in Nova Gorica.

More than 30 officials from 23 Slovenian companies visited Yaroslavl in September 2014 and now the Russian delegation is returning the visit to strengthen ties between the Slovenian and Russian businesses, SPIRIT said in a press release.

The agency sees business opportunities in Yaroslavl mainly for innovative and high-tech Slovenian companies.

Possible areas of cooperation include public infrastructure, telecommunications, IT, metal and automotive industries, pharma and medical equipment, food industries and tourism.

There are also opportunities for joint projects in wood industry, as both Slovenia and the Yaroslavl region are rich in forests, the agency said.

Although one of Russia's smaller regions, Yaroslavl has quite strong industry, especially wood-processing, rubber and automotive sectors, and agriculture.
