Manufacturing led the way as it expanded by 5.3% compared to the eight-month period in 2014. Electricity, gas and steam supply expanded by 2.5%, although mining and quarrying contracted by 2.2%.

Industrial revenues were up by 4.8% in the same period, despite registering a 2.3% drop at the monthly level.

Compared to July, industrial output shrank by 0.3% in August. It grew by 5.2% over August 2014.

Inventories were up by 1.2% on average in August, with mining seeing a 7.1% rise and manufacturing a 1.1% increase. The level of inventories was 3.9% higher than the average in 2010.
