Srečko Katanec's side will look for a repeat of its feat from 16 years ago, when it upset Ukraine to book a trip to Euro 2000, Slovenia's first ever appearance at a major football tournament.

The first match of the tie is scheduled to be played in Ukraine between 12 and 14 November, with the return leg to be played in Slovenia between 15 and 17 November.

Both sides finished third in their respective qualifying groups to enter the playoff that features eight third-placed teams.

Whereas Slovenia finished behind England and Switzerland in group E, Ukraine was topped by Spain and Slovakia in group C.

In the other three playoff ties, Sweden will face Denmark, Bosnia-Herzegovina will play Ireland, and Norway will take on Hungary.
