The Komenda-based company generated EUR 10.5m in total revenue in 2014, EUR 9.5m on account of sales abroad.

For this year, CEO Janez Novak announced around EUR 13.4m in revenue for the company, which has 107 employees.

RLS merilna tehnika found traction in 2000 when it merged with British engineering company Renishaw, which holds a 50% stake in RLS.

The "Gazelle award jury" described RLS as "an example to follow in Slovenia's economic development in the direction of a prosperous and stable future for the country, founded in knowledge, innovation and integration in global exchange".

Also handed out at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana on Wednesday evening were the Silver Gazelle, which went to computer engineering company Nicelabel - Euro Plus, and the Bronze Gazelle, which was conferred on the maker of standard and customised tool plates Oro met.
