The main event was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) on Monday, with Public Administration Minister Boris Koprivnikar underlining that the web portal helped significantly in cutting red tape and improving business environment.

He said that the success of the web portal reflected good cooperation among a number of state institutions. These have succeeded in cutting red tape by cooperating and providing comprehensive information to entrepreneurs.

The first year, some 4,200 registrations were performed over the web portal, while last year, the number reached 260,000, according to Matija Kodra, the head of the Public Administration Ministry's Service for Better Regulation, Administrative Processes and Quality.

Next year, the number of registrations is expected to exceed one million, as Slovenia will introduce obligatory digital social insurance registration, Kodra added.

Apart from the event at GZS, the Public Administration will organise a number of events in the ten biggest towns in Slovenia to mark the anniversary. Among other things, various business lectures and counselling for new entrepreneurs will be provided.
