The Commission described its content as one of the best in the EU, the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy said on Wednesday.

The office said this means Slovenia is entering the implementation phase, both with regard to the package of measures and to the management structure.

Together with the Education, Science and Sport Ministry and the Economic Development and Technology Ministry, the office will conduct in mid-November a series of consultations on strategic partnership for development and innovation. Everyone interested in setting up a new management model is invited to contribute.

The government adopted the smart specialisation strategy on 20 September, providing guidelines to make Slovenia more competitive globally with sustainable technologies and services for a healthy life set as priorities.

The document plans EUR 656m development investments a year in 2016-2018, of which EUR 366m in public funds or EUR 455m including leverage in financial instruments.
