The project, which will last up to a year and a half, will see Adria's passenger numbers double, the company has said.

Adria's new partner, Nordic Aviation Group, was established after the shut-down of Estonia Air. In an effort to keep Estonia well connected the new group, which is yet to acquire the needed flying licences, has struck cooperation agreements with several carriers.

The process of acquiring the needed approval takes about 12 months, Adria CEO Mark Anžur has told the STA. During this time, Adria will fly to and from Tallin with Nordic's planes and crews. Adria will also make available to them all of its flight and ticket sale systems.

In total, it might take up to 18 months before Nordic Aviation Group is able to fly under its own name, according to Anžur.
